CRC Event Suite for BusinessObjects Enterprise extends the flexibility and robustness of event based scheduling within Enterprise.

CRC Event Suite's On-demand Events

On-demand events are triggered by an external process, such as a job stream scheduling program on another system. Many clients use AutoSys or similar programs for their external event processing.

The external program starts CRC's interface program with an argument for the external event's name. For example:

    "D:\CRC Event Suite\On Demand Events\CRC_On_Demand_Events.vbs"
             "trigger" "HR DataMart On-demand"

starts the interface program for triggering the "HR DataMart On-demand" trigger (the other option is "Verify" for testing the interface). Multiple events can be named in the command line if quoted and separated by commas.

On-demand Events have these processing rules:

• Only "On-demand" events can be externally triggered
• The "On-demand" event must be enabled for the "Target" event to be triggered
• When triggered, the internal "Target" event is also triggered
• Logging on to the Enterprise system is internal to the interface and not known to the external program
• Security is implemented by user account file and profile permissions for the external program
• Enterprise reports are scheduled based on the "Target" trigger
• Application events are posted to the System Event Log for external viewing
