Migration to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI and XI R2

System Migration moves your current reporting system's users and groups, folder, reports and report instances to the latest BusinessObjects Enterprise System. CRC has assisted clients in their migrations since March, 2001, and has migrated systems to Crystal Enterprise 8.5, 9.0, 10, and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2.

Migration Preparation reviews your current reporting system to determine the system features that must be provided by the BusinessObjects Enterprise system. Any special migration issues such as report changes, security implementation, or interfaces are identified at this point.

System Architecture determines the machine and services configuration appropriate for the replacement BusinessObjects Enterprise system. For this, CRC sizes the system based on your actual and planned system uses and hardware implementation. Is the system distributed among machines? Are the users distributed across time zones? What is the configuration that best matches your report data sources?

Enterprise Installation and Configuration places the BusinessObjects Enterprise software on your equipment using the Best Practices we have developed over the past four years. CRC describes implementation options, trade-offs, and alternatives so that our clients understand their options and CRC's recommendations.

System Migration is the actual movement of your current reporting system's users and groups, folder, reports and report instances to the new BusinessObjects Enterprise System. CRC works with our clients to ensure eash task is understood and that each participant is prepared to complete their tasks.

System Deployment begins use of the BusinessObjects Enterprise system as the replaced system is made inactive. Many clients continue to operate their current system as an online reference during the transition to the latest BusinessObjects Enterprise. CRC reconfigures the current system so that reports do not run, but report instances can be viewed, the Enterprise Desktop can be navigated, and system security can be examined to compare the old and new systems.

BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration is enhanced with training on CRC's Administration Tools. CRC installs our full set of tools on client systems so that we can ensure the BusinessObjects Enterprise system is performing correctly. Our clients continue to use the tools on a daily basis for system management and monitoring.
