Abstract:
Over one weekend last November, a team of four people migrated SBC’s Seagate Info 7.5 system to Crystal Enterprise 8.5. Over 5,000 user accounts, 3,000 reports, and 17,000 report instances were moved to the new system, positioning SBC to immediately implement on-demand reporting, custom application integration, and expanded uses of the new reporting infrastructure, while preserving their investment in existing corporate reporting functions. In their presentation, Adam Gentry from SBC’s Enterprise Systems Reporting Team, and Chris Christian, principal consultant with CRC Business Solutions, describe SBC’s business case for migration, the planning and preparation for the CE system, their migration success, and the lessons they learned.
